Pocket MBTA App Reviews

When I first got it, I could look at one list and see what my route options were for my favored bus stops were. Now I get "no current predictions" for that favored route (though clicking on it usually brings up an accurate arrival time), or a completely inaccurate prediction time (again, a real time arrival can be found by tapping the actual stop/route on the list) or "no predictions available" for a particular stop, with no info at all, even if the next stop does have accurate information. Again, this used to be a really good bus app, but it is not worth the frustration any more.

This app is just for buses. Commuter Rail, subway and boats are NOT included. So DONT believe the title -- you arent getting the MBTA. The app description is unclear -- it talks about buses, but doesnt exclude other modes. But the title definitely implies all modes, so its very misleading. Also, even for buses it is just so-so. There is no system map. If you are interested in going to a place and wonder what buses go near there you are out of luck with this app. I gave it two stars because for the situation where you know your bus route and want to look at schedules, it seems to be pretty accurate.

As the other reviewer mentions below, this is only for the bus system. The app description is very misleading. Guess I should have read the reviews.

I have found this app to be great. Very accurate and helpful for me to get where I am going. I would recommend it.

This app is beyond helpful. I have a set routine for busses and this app will always give me accurate times. I know when I need to step out of my house or how long I have to wait for the next bus.

This app is worth ten times the cost. Very accurate, extremely useful, always helpful. A must for MBTA bus commuters or visitors.

This app really says what it does. How convenient it really shows where the bus is located. Thats awesome.

Needs to state clearly that this is Bus ONLY, not all MBTA services

tried it to find one route (86) during recent visit to Boston - only info i got was that the next bus was 92 mins away from my stop - ALL DAY!

Need to upgrade....

Not sure what the low reviewers are complaining about cause this app is spot on for the routes I take. I certainly appreciate knowing rather than waiting. Primarily use on the routes to and from Forest Hills. Thank you!

I downloaded a free one wich is way better

This app works well most of the time, however half of the stops for route 22 outbound (the one I most frequently use) are missing. This problem does not change no matter how many times I email them.

Very reliable most of the time. Does what it promises. Just needs an update for iPhone 5.

Great! Had a hard time at first understanding it but now I have it under control. Amazing how it could track the buses exact locations.

This app used to work really well, but within the past week it started displaying different times for the same stop depending on what view youre in. For example, when Im in my favorites list, it would say 10 minutes. When I clicked on the stop to get the map view, it would say 5 minutes. Id switch back to favorites and it says 10 still. It makes no sense and is no longer accurate.

This app used to work reliably. But for the last week or so the times are consistently wrong - even with regular updates. I missed a few busses due to this app. I cant use it anymore.

This app *has* been very reliable until just the last few days, when suddenly different arrival times are shown for the same bus in different views - and neither time seems accurate. Please update/repair the app! I depend upon it daily!

I agree with the recent reviews for this app. It was incredibly reliable until a few weeks ago. If it doesnt get fixed soon, Ill have to switch to another bus app. Its not making for a happy commuter experience.
